Midlife isn’t just a shift in hormones—it’s a shift in identity, energy, and how your body responds to the things that used to work.

This is the exact season I found myself in years ago. The weight was creeping up, my energy was tanking, and even though I was trying to stay “on plan,” nothing seemed to be changing.

What finally helped?
It wasn’t another diet.
It was a mindset reset.

I had to learn how to stop spiraling in frustration and start rewriting the thoughts that were keeping me stuck.

 

The Midlife Mindset Tool That Changes Everything

Let’s talk about the tool I now teach in my Midlife Fat Loss Formula: the CTFAR Model. This tool helps you understand how your thoughts affect your actions and ultimately your results.

Here's the breakdown:

  • C – Circumstances: Neutral facts (e.g. “I’m in menopause,” “I gained 10 pounds”)

  • T – Thoughts: What you tell yourself about those facts

  • F – Feelings: Created by your thoughts

  • A – Actions: Driven by your feelings

  • R – Results: The outcome of your actions

Most of us don’t even realize we’re running on auto-pilot thoughts like:

  • “This just isn’t working anymore.”

  • “I can’t keep this up.”

  • “Maybe I should just give up.”

These thoughts create feelings like defeat, hopelessness, or shame. And when that’s what you’re feeling… it’s no wonder you’re not seeing the results you want.

 

The Real Work in Midlife Isn’t Hustle—It’s Alignment

When I say “we’re here to do the work,” I don’t mean hustle harder or power through.

I’m talking about a different kind of work—the internal work of aligning your thoughts with the version of you that knows what she wants, and believes she can still get there.

 

Let’s break that down…

 

Doing the work means partnering with your body, not fighting it.

You may not recognize your body right now. It may feel like everything is changing and nothing is working. That’s okay.

But your body isn’t betraying you—it’s asking for something different.

Doing the work starts by asking:

  • What are my symptoms trying to tell me?

  • What does my body need right now?

  • What would it look like to support instead of criticize?

Doing the work means letting go of perfectionism.

Raise your hand if you’ve thought: “If I can’t do it perfectly, why bother?”

That thought right there? It’s a trap.

Perfectionism is one of the top things keeping midlife women stuck. Real transformation comes from consistent, imperfect action. That’s how you build trust with yourself again.

 

Doing the work means confronting your “I’ll start over Monday” thoughts.

Let’s be honest—we’ve all been there.

The truth is, those thoughts are just old patterns. They don’t mean anything about who you are or what you're capable of.
